DagsHub Integrates with arXiv to Connect Reproduced Research Papers

At DagsHub, we're always looking for new ways to help researchers and developers collaborate and share their work more easily. That's why we're excited to announce our latest integration with arXiv, the leading repository of academic research papers, which allows you to directly connect reproduction of research papers on DagsHub to their corresponding paper on arXiv.

Why do we need to connect papers to projects?

One of the main challenges researchers face is the difficulty of reproducing the results of published research papers. Often, papers are not published with the code, data, and models necessary to reproduce the experiments, making it hard to verify the results and build upon the work. This can lead to wasted time and effort and slow down progress in the field.

There is an extensive effort in the ML space to encourage developers to reproduce papers and share their work, including the Reproducibility Challenge hosted by Papers with Code.

To take part in this effort, we decided to build an integration with arXiv, which allows you to connect reproduction of research papers on DagsHub to their corresponding paper on arXiv.

What is arXiv?

arXiv is a free, open-access repository of scholarly articles in the fields of machine learning, physics, mathematics, computer science, and more. It was created in 1991 as a way for researchers to share preprints of their work before it is formally published in a journal. Today, arXiv contains over 1.5 million articles and is widely used by researchers worldwide to discover and access the latest research in their field.

What is the integration between DagsHub and arXiv?

With this new integration, you can now connect your DagsHub project directly to a paper on arXiv, making it easier for fellow researchers and developers to discover your work, use and build upon it. Once your DagsHub project is connected to an arXiv paper, a link to the paper will appear on your DagsHub repository page, and a link to your project will appear on the arXiv paper page under Code, Data, Media.

How to connect a project from DagsHub to a paper on arXiv?

For this example, we’ll use the implementation of the CheXNet paper on DagsHub.

From the settings of the DagsHub project, add the link to the arXiv paper under "Related paper on arXiv" and click on the update settings button.

By doing that, a link to your DagsHub project will also be shown on the arXiv paper page under Code, Data, Media.

This integration makes it easier for researchers and developers to discover and build upon each other's work. Whether you're a machine learning engineer, a data scientist, or a researcher in any other field, you can now connect your DagsHub project to your arXiv paper and share your work more widely.
